55 communities receive funding to improve infrastructure and community facilities.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has distributed $95.5 million through the Indian Community Development Block Grant Program, providing funding to 55 Native American communities throughout the country. These investments will be used to improve the infrastructure and community buildings of reservation areas, allowing a wide range of projects to meaningfully improve the housing, roads, water facilities, and housing for Tribal nations.
“The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to sharing resources with Tribal communities so they can meet their own unique needs,” said HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge. “The funding announced today will help make Tribal communities safer, healthier, and help families thrive.”
